About BNB
BNB is the native token of the BNB Chain ecosystem and the exchange token associated with Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by volume. It launched in 2017 as an Ethereum-based token and later moved to its own chain.
BNB has several uses: discounted trading fees on Binance, paying transaction (gas) fees on the BNB Smart Chain, and access to various products across the ecosystem. Binance periodically “burns” BNB — permanently removing coins from circulation — which gradually reduces the total supply over time.
Because BNB is closely tied to Binance and its chain, its value tends to track the exchange’s fortunes and the activity on BNB Smart Chain. That link is also a risk: it makes BNB more centralised and more exposed to regulatory scrutiny of Binance than an asset like Bitcoin.
Close-up — What happened
BNB is a utility and exchange token: it pays gas on BNB Smart Chain, discounts fees on Binance, and is reduced over time by scheduled burns. Its ecosystem is one of the largest by users and applications.
Wide shot — What it means
BNB’s strength — its tight integration with Binance — is also its main risk. Its value is bound up with a single company and its regulatory standing, and BNB Smart Chain is more centralised than rival networks. Owning BNB is, in part, a bet on Binance itself.
The Aperture brings the close-up and the wide shot into focus. Not financial advice.

BNB FAQ
What is BNB?
BNB is the native token of BNB Chain and the exchange token linked to Binance. It is used for gas fees on BNB Smart Chain and for fee discounts on the Binance exchange.
What are BNB burns?
Binance periodically destroys a portion of BNB, permanently removing it from circulation. This gradually reduces the total supply over time.
Is BNB decentralised?
Less so than Bitcoin or Ethereum. BNB is closely tied to Binance and BNB Smart Chain uses a smaller set of validators, which raises centralisation and regulatory considerations.
Is BNB a good investment?
roo2ya does not give financial advice. BNB is volatile and its value is linked to Binance’s fortunes and regulatory standing. Understand the risks and do your own research.
Where does roo2ya’s BNB price come from?
Live price, 24-hour change and volume come from Binance market data; market cap is the live price multiplied by a curated circulating-supply figure.
